Fare Adjustment Surcharge For Non-Primary Service Area Pick-Up/Drop-Off

GoSherpa Transport Fares are quoted for pick-ups and drop-offs undertaken inside our Primary Service Areas. A fare-adjustment surcharge applies to a pick-up and/or a drop-off undertaken outside these Primary Service Areas (basically, the surcharge would approximate the taxi fare and, if applicable, tolls of a taxi ride between our Primary Service Area and the pick-up/drop-off location. It pays for the added costs (including tolls) for getting to and from the outer areas.

GoSherpa’s service areas are described below in general terms. A per-location surcharge may apply. (Such a surcharge is NOT assessed per passenger but is “shared” by all passengers at a pick-up/drop-off location). If you are unsure which of the following categories your pick-up and/or drop-off location falls into, please contact GoSherpa to inquire.

Primary Service Areas (Surcharge: $0 or $20)

  • Around Boston - Central Boston/Brookline/Cambridge, Lower Somerville, and at the designated LoganExpress garage in Framingham or at a designated Park-N-Ride lot in Millbury or Auburn

    • $20 for locations Just Outside Primary Service Area (other neighborhoods of Boston, Brookline, Cambridge, or Somerville)

  • Around New York City - Manhattan and at the designated pick-up locations in Yonkers and White Plains

    • $20 for Roosevelt Island and Long Island City

Secondary Service Areas [Surcharge: $40 or $60 ]
Outside Primary Service Areas but are

  • Around Boston -

    • $40 for locations well within the 128/I-95 Belt (or within a 2-mile radius of a standard MetroWest stop)

    • $60 for locations just inside or outside the 128/I-95 Beltway

  • Around New York City -

    • $40 for Bronx, Inner Brooklyn (north of Route27/Linden Blvd & west of Nostrand Ave), Northern Queens (north of Long Island Expressway)

    • $60 for Outer Brooklyn (south of Route27/Linden Blvd or east of Nostrand Ave ) and Southern Queens (south of Long Island Expressway)

Greater Metro Areas [Surcharge: $80 to $100]

Outside Secondary Service Areas but are

  • Around Boston - within I-495 Belt, and if south of Boston, the location must be west of I-95 [available only to travel parties of 2 or more]

  • Around New York City - Staten Island, New Jersey townships along The Hudson River opposite Manhattan

    or locations outside Primary Service Area but within a 15-mile radius of Brooklyn [available only to travel parties of 2 or more]

Outside Metro Service Areas [Surcharge: $125 or Greater]

  • LaGuardia International Airport [$40]

  • JFK International Airport [$80]

  • Newark International Airport [$120]

This surcharge is assessed for each location. Thus, if only your pick-up or your drop-off location is to be undertaken outside our Primary Service Area, then, add one surcharge only. If both your pick-up and drop-off locations are outside our Primary Service Areas, please add two surcharges - one for your pick-up and one for your drop-off locations.
