A small-sized (less than 20 lbs/9 kg) to medium-sized (up to 40 lbs/18 kg) dog or cat may accompany the passenger. Your pet may travel in the luggage area which is separated from the passenger area by a partial partition or you may have your pet travel with you in the passenger area. You may have your pet travel inside or outside a carrier. Your choices in these two regards determine the amounts of a Pet Travel Surcharge and a refundable Pet Travel Assurance Deposit.
The Pet Travel Surcharge is
$39 per Pet if traveling in the Luggage Area and
$69 per Pet if traveling in the Passenger Area.
NOTE: The Luggage Area is separated from the Passenger Area by a partial partition. In other words, the partition does NOT extend from the ceiling to the floor - meaning your pet breaths the same air as you.
The Pet Owner is responsible for ensuring that his/her pet will NOT disturb fellow passengers and will NOT damage the property of GoSherpa or that of the fellow Riders. As assurance, GoSherpa does require the payment of a small deposit - 95% of which will be refunded within 48 hours after completion of the trip if no disturbance or damage has been caused by your Pet carriage. The amount of this Pet Travel Assurance Deposit is
$100 if your Pet travels inside a carrier and
$250 if your Pet travels outside a carrier.
If “traveling inside carrier” is selected, your pet must remain inside its carrier whenever it is inside the van (to prevent shedding, other issues resulting in added cleaning, and potential harm to people and property). Failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of a portion of the Pet Assurance Deposit.
GoSherpa does require the execution and submission of a (click for form) Pet Carriage Agreement.
