Transportation Between Storrs (CT) and Clark (NJ) During Breaks In The Academic School Year

GoSherpasm offers direct transportation between the Storrs campus of The University of Connecticut and Clark, New Jersey during the various breaks of the 2024/2025 academic year (specifically, around Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Spring Break).  On the Storrs (CT) end, pick-ups and drop-offs occur at various pre-determined stops around the The UConn campus. On the Clark (NJ) end, pick-up and drop-off occurs at the front entrance of the Target store in Clark, New Jersey.

Transportation is provided in a 13-passenger van. The trip itself can be described as follows -

• As the duration of each trip is traffic dependent, it can vary greatly. The duration of past trips have varied between 3.5 hours (usually for Sunday morning trips) and 5.0 hours (usually for Friday afternoon trips).

• One food/washroom break is scheduled around the mid-point of the trip.

• As the pick-up points around the Storrs campus (and the times at which these will occur) will vary from trip to trip depending on the selections of the Student-Riders, they will be communicated to the Student-Riders and those Riders’ parents/legal guardians in group texts established by GoSherpa about 48 hours before Travel Date.

• The drop-offs around the Storrs campus occurs at one of the pre-determined stops or arrangements may be made to have the drop-off done at customized locations.

• For Storrs-To-Clark trips, parents/legal guardians are notified (via group texts) of an updated estimated time of arrival about 1 hour before arrival in Clark, New Jersey.

• For Clark-To-Storrs trips, parents/legal guardians are notified (via group texts) when all Student-Riders have been dropped off at Storrs, Connecticut.

Service Schedule and Fares

1. The maximum number of Riders per trip is 12 to 13.

2. Departure times are preliminary estimates. The actual times / pick-up windows for each pick-up point will be communicated via text approximately 2 days before travel. These pick-up windows should be 10 to 40 minutes before the Departure Time.

3. Undiscounted fares assume only the minimum 11 Riders sign-up for a trip 6 weeks before Travel Date. Discounted fares assume 12 to 13 Riders sign-up for a trip 6 weeks before Travel Date.

4. Fares do not include driver gratuity - the payment of which is optional but, of course, appreciated.
